Some things to sort out related to available builds:

  • Need a small Nano build available
  • Need to re-evaluate the common Dojo builds
  • Need to split uncompressed into a separate tree, and investigate pushing to a CDN
  • Determine how to simplify package distribution (e.g. what's the easiest way to get a dgrid package and start using it with different Dojo versions)

We have an enormous amount of data for analysis from the Dojo Web Builder to understand what the most common builds are, we have about 10,000 sample user builds.

I'm not sure whether this would be better as its own ticket, but from my very limited experience, one thing I think could stand to be simplified a ton is all of the various has-features that are floating around within the dojo loader process.

Getting a truly stripped-down build involves making liberal use of staticHasFeatures, and currently from what I recall hearing, it's very easy to end up with a busted build by turning off flags, and not very intuitive to come up with the right combination.
